Water and Woods Cabin
A black cabin in the rainforest, shot the way it is felt
Created as Atlas & Wander

A hinterland cabin above Springbrook where the whole stay is the point: the tub, the fire, the rain on the deck.

The challenge
The cabin looked like every other hinterland listing in a thumbnail, and the existing photography sold the building instead of the feeling of being there in winter.
What we did
A two night content stay producing a full stills and vertical film library, weighted towards atmosphere, weather and the small rituals guests come for.
Springbrook is thirty minutes and one thousand metres away from the coast, and the cabin sits in the middle of it, black timber against tree ferns, with almost nothing between the deck and the forest.
This was a stay rather than a shoot list. We photographed the hours nobody puts in a brochure: steam coming off the outdoor tub in the cold, a candle lit before dark, a glass of red held out over a wet deck while the string lights came on.
The library was built to run for a full year across the site, the direct booking pages and social, with vertical film cut for the way guests actually browse.

“People book the feeling, and these were the first photos that actually had it.”
